Building Towards Better Real Estate Blogging
Who are you? For today’s installation in our real estate blogging series, we’re going to talk a little bit about identity. Identity for bloggers means a little bit about your blog name or the name of your business. Instead, it is who you are online and who your readers expect to meet each and every time they load up your latest post.
Familiarity Matters.
In order for your loyal readership to become loyal in the first place, they need to become familiar with not only the subject matter of your real estate themed blog, but also need to feel like they’re in touch almost on a one on one basis with you, the author. Establishing this level of familiarity or trust is a matter of sharing your best each and every time.
Leave Little Cues.
Part of establishing familiarity while blogging is leading your blog’s visitors to expect a certain type of post. If you’re great at sharing lists, then let that be your thing. A reader won’t be comfortable when style changes dramatically from post to post. For example, if one post is completely academic in structure and nature and then the next is a conversation rant, you might be alienating the consistency that keeps ‘em coming back for more.
Share Your Voice!
Your friends and family instantly recognize your voice when you speak, don’t they? Well, blogging shouldn’t be all that different. Granted, you’re not using your vocal cords to make auditory sounds, but you are still using “voice.” Your voice is unique to you and you only. It might be the way you tend to combine words or special expressions frequently used in your writing. Whatever it is, don’t try to suppress it from coming through loud and clear – it’s who you are after all!
